Obama Pledges $200 Million in Aid to Iraq

The White House pledged $200 million more in humanitarian aid to Iraq intended to help displaced people in the fight against ISIS, President Barack Obama announced at a meeting with Iraq's prime minister Tuesday, NBC News reported. Obama met with Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Al-Abadi at the White House to discuss the progress that the war-torn country has made, and its looming humanitarian needs as it seeks to dislodge the Islamist extremists. Abadi said that although Iraq faces violence from terrorists, the country had made tremendous strides — partly with U.S. help.
