We mentioned last week that Andre Drummond was officially on scholarship at UConn, enrolled in classes, and ready to start school like every other student. We also pointed out that the team website listed him on the roster as No. 15, which previously belonged to somebody named Kemba Walker.

Well, over the weekend, Drummond took a new number: 12. Apparently, on Friday morning he asked to switch it. A team spokesman told the Hartford Courant's Dom Amore that Drummond just changed his mind. These things tend to happen with teenagers.

Amore polled his readers last and asked if Drummond should be wearing Walker's number just a few months after Walker left the program for the NBA. Interestingly, of the 621 respondents, 43 percent saying there was "no way" Drummond should wear No. 15, while 22 percent said Drummond should get the number at some point in the future (presumably after he'd earned the right). And 34 percent thought Drummond was well within his rights to wear it.

Here's the thing: while it's always weird to see somebody else wearing the number of a player who did great things, if UConn doesn't want the No. 15 on the back of another Huskies player they should retire it. Until then, it's fair game. We don't remember hearing much whinging when Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis took Maya Moore's No. 23 this summer.

We eagerly await the hardcore AJ Price supporters lamenting the fact that Drummond is now wearing his number.
