As Miss California Carrie Prejean is stripped of her title, and runner-up Tami Farrell primps for Prejean’s place, pageant princesses in Connecticut have their own crowns to capture.
From Miss Elegance in Cromwell to the crowning of Miss Mum for young girls in Bristol, Forestville, Wolcott, Terryville and Burlington, women (and men) all over the state are teaming up to take home the tiara.
The Miss Elegance Pageant, held this August at the Sheraton Bradley, has multiple divisions so anyone and everyone can enter. Yes gentlemen, that means you too! Now guys can gun for the title of Mr. Elegance. Fancy!
“At Elegance it’s not about the clothing, photos, or H/M, it is about the contestant and we have had Natural and Glitz win the titles!!,” it says on the Miss Elegance Web site.
Others pageants focus on the foliage.
Ladies ages 14- to 17-years-old are vying for the title of Miss Mum. But hurry! They only accept first 15 applications. Miss Mum is expected to appear at all of the Mum Festival activities as the Hostess of the Bristol Mum Festival, and will also makes appearances throughout the year at Bristol activities such as the Home Show, and local parades.
Tired of the teen queens?
Then get mom signed up for Mrs. Connecticut America. According to its Web site, areas of competition include private interview with panel of qualified judges, swimsuit, evening gown and on-stage question. The judges are looking for the woman who best represents personality, charm, beauty of face and figure, intelligence and ability to articulate. You go mom!
Convinced you’re a blue blood? This year, International Royalty Pageant, “the Pageant for Royalty” will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn in Milford.
“At our pageants, contestants have the opportunity to meet talent and modeling agents, as well as some local and national casting agents while competing in a safe and friendly environment,” the Web site states.
