Ron Howard's Greenwich Estate Sells for $27.5 Million

Ron Howard Film director has sold his property that spans the border from New York to Greenwich, Connecticut for $27.5 million.

The listing, by Tamar Lurie of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage and Lyn Stevens of Sotheby’s International Realty, called the house a lakefront county estate.

The main residence which has six bedrooms, a library/office suite, a home theatre, a billiards room, a gym with a yoga studio and an indoor pool, sold for the asking price within two weeks of being listed.

The estate also includes a two-bedroom guest house, a sports barn, a greenhouse and barns.

The Oscar winning director issued a statement to The Greenwich Time in May calling the home "a very special place." He and his wife had moved there from Los Angeles in 1985 to raise a family, but are moving on now that their children are grown.

Lurie said the Howard family now lives most of the time in California.

The buyers are choosing to remain anonymous, according to a statement from the public relations firm for Sotheby's.
