Cuba Gooding Jr. Filming in Connecticut

    Cuba Gooding Jr. is filming a feature film in Connecticut and the casting company is looking for extras.

    The film's working title is "Something Whispered" and it is being filmed through November at locations around Bridgeport and at a church in Pomfret.

    The story revolves around a family's struggle in 1850 to escape slavery through the Underground Railroad.

    The filming begins in September and goes through November and there is a casting call at the Downtown Bridgeport Public Library, at 925 Broad Street in Bridgeport, on Tuesday, Sept. 18.

    The casting call for members of the Screen Actors Guild and American Federation of Television and Radio Artists is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Burroughs and Saden on the first floor. You must bring your membership card.

    The casting call for the general public is from 1 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Union members can also attend this part of the call.

    The casting crew is looking for men and women able who can portray African Americans, Africans or Caucasians who look 18 to 60 years old.

    These are paid background acting positions, according to the Bridgeport Library Web site.

    There will be another open casting call at the Bradley Playhouse, 30 Front St., on Friday to film a scene in a Pomfret church during the 1800s.

    The open casting call is from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

    The casting call for members of the Screen Actors Guild and American Federation of Television and Radio Artists is from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

    You must be at least 18 years of age and able to portray ages 18 to 60.

     

     

     

    The open casting call will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. SAG-AFTRA members with membership cards are scheduled from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., but may come at any time.
