MONTVILLE -- State police have arrested a man from Oakdale in connection with a deadly hit and run accident on Route 32 in Montville that killed a card dealer at Mohegan Sun Casino.

Jeffrey Socha, 21, of Ventura Drive in Oakdale was arrested on Wednesday and charged in the accident that killed Fu Quan Liu, 59, of Montville.

Socha is accused of striking Liu with his car, as Liu walked to work on the night of April 14, 2008.
Liu suffered multiple, traumatic injures and was transported to Backus Hospital.  He was transferred to Yale New Haven Hospital and died on May 8, 2008.

The facts of the crash and video of the actual crash were broadcast on local TV news. A viewer contacted state police detectives and provided information that led detectives to obtain an arrest warrant for Socha.

He is charged with misconduct with a motor vehicle, evading responsibility and failure to obey a traffic signal and is being held on $25,000 bond.
