Bridgeport Woman Arrested After Violent Home Invasion

A Bridgeport woman is facing robbery charges following the violent home invasion that left a 33-year-old resident in critical condition.

Leah McNellis, 23, was arrested Tuesday and charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery. Police said they’re continuing to investigate and expect to make additional arrests.

The charges stem from a home invasion and robbery at 585 Pond Street in Bridgeport on Jan. 14. A 33-year-old resident, Geraldo Costa, was shot in the head and remains in critical condition, according to police.

Authorities said they believe the home invasion was a targeted incident. Cash was stolen, and responding officers saw several people running from the home, police said.
