Canterbury Woman Arrested on Heroin Charges

Connecticut state police have arrested a Canterbury woman on heroin charges as part of an ongoing effort to combat narcotic use.

According to police, the Troop D Quality of Life Task Force (QLTF) was conducting surveillance at the Cumberland Farms on Route 14 in Canterbury after reports of drug activity in the parking lot.

Troopers followed a suspicious vehicle and after observing several traffic violations the driver was pulled over.

The driver, identified as Dorinna Jones, 31 admitted to having heroin, police said. Troopers seized numerous bags of prepackaged heroin from her.

Jones was charged with possession of heroin and released on a $2,500 bond. She is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 30.
