Firefighters Put Out Blaze Behind Washer-Dryer in Norwalk Condo

Norwalk firefighters quickly put out a fire that broke out in the wall behind a stacked washer and dryer unit in a city condominium while residents were at home.

Twenty-five firefighters responded to a structure fire at the Ledgebrook Condominium Complex at 186 Gillie's Lane at 1:52 p.m. on Sunday. Three adults were home at the time but made it outside safely before firefighters arrived.

After extinguishing the fire behind the washer-dryer unit on the second floor, firefighters checked to make sure that the fire didn't spread to any common ares or other units.

No one was injured.

Firefighters cleared the scene by 3:30 p.m.
