A man suspected of stealing cash and jewelry from a house in Milford was arrested eight days after the burglary when police identified him through the home surveillance video, police said.
Michael Spangler, 34, of Milford, was arrested on Interstate 95 on Friday.
Police began investigating on June 21 when a resident of Housatonic Drive contacted police to report the burglary and supplied video from the surveillance system that captured images of the burglar, police said.
On Friday, Milford police stopped a vehicle on Interstate 95 near the exit 40 rest area and Spangler was in the passenger seat, police said.
He provided a fake name and had 105 prescription pills when he was arrested, police said.
Spangler was charged with burglary in the third degree, larceny in the second degree, interfering with police, possession of narcotics, illegal possession of a prescription drug and refusal to be fingerprinted.
Police said he is a suspect in other similar incidents and further arrests are expected.
Spangler was held in lieu of a $50,000 bond and is expected to be arraigned on Friday morning in Milford Superior Court.
