Man Shot in Buttocks During Drive-By Shooting in Hartford

Police are looking for the man who fired a gun from a moving car and shot a man in the buttocks in Hartford on Wednesday night.

Police responded to Bedford and Mather streets after a shot spotter detected three gunshots at 11:15 p.m., on Wednesday, according to police.

They found the victim in front of 150 Bedford Street. He’d been shot once in the buttocks and an ambulance brought him to St. Francis Hospital. He has since been released, according to police.

A witness reported to police that a man who was sitting out the passenger seat of a silver Mustang traveling down Mather Street fired shots down Bedford Street, then the vehicle fled, police said. Surveillance footage backed up the description of events, according to police.

Investigators found two 9-milimeter casings, a blue shirt and a sneaker in the road and took them into evidence.

Major Crimes Detective also responded.

Police have not located the shooter and said they are looking for a man who was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and had a silver semiautomatic pistol.

He was in is a silver two-door Mustang with a black racing stripe down the center.
