Man Stabs Girlfriend's Ex Who Knocked His Hat Off: New Haven Police

A New Haven man was arrested after stabbing his girlfriend's ex, according to police.

Eddie Tirado, 53, of New Haven, is facing charges including assault.

Luis Trajeski, 46, was being treated at the Yale-New Haven Hospital St. Raphael's campus when police were alerted to the stabbing at 5:28 p.m. on Saturday. He told police that two men stabbed him near the bus stop at Whalley and Sherman avenues and that he had lacerations and wounds to the chest and forearms as a result.

However, his daughter's story was different. She told police that she witnessed her mother's boyfriend, Tirado stabbed him at 46 Barnett Street "after he'd knocked his hat off his head for being disrespectful."

Trajeski's injuries aren't life-threatening.

Police arrested Tirado, charging him with first-degree assault and breach of peace.
