Glastonbury police arrested an East Hartford teen who is accused of threatening a group of people with a BB gun early Sunday morning.

Police said Austen Kingsbury, 19, of East Hartford, threatened residents who were standing outside a home on Melrose Street just before 2:30 a.m.

Kingsbury was driving by the group and yelled something at them, then they yelled something back and he stopped his car, got out and approached the group, according to police.

Kingsbury then went back to his car, put the BB gun in his waistband, went back to the group and lifted his shirt, showing the gun to the group.

Police said he did not take the BB gun out of his waistband.

When officers found Kingsbury leaving the scene, he had the BB gun on him, police said.

Kingsbury was charged with first-degree threatening, second-degree breach of peace, brandishing a facsimile firearm, weapons in a motor vehicle and possession of more than half-an-ounce of marijuana.

Bond was set at $50,000. He is due in court today.
