Milford police have charged a convicted sex offender with committing a lewd act in public.
Dylan Derosa, 24, of Milford, was arrested Tuesday night after police said he was masturbating in a car in the area of Beach Avenue and Wall Street around 10 p.m.
According to police, Derosa rolled down his window and asked someone "Hey, can you give me a hand with this?"
Derosa left the scene, but police found him and the witness was able to identify him as the one in the car, police said.
He is charged with public indecency and second-degree breach of peace.
Derosa is on the state's sex offender registry. He was convicted of second-degree sexual assault of a minor in 2013.
