Middletown police arrested a mom accused of driving drunk to a party with two small children in the car.

Police arrested Donna Taylor, 42, of Cambridge Commons, on Abbey Lane on Sunday evening after her ex-husband called to say she was extremely intoxicated when she drove there with the couple’s children.

The owner of the home where the party was held told police he called Taylor’s ex-husband to come get the children because the woman was drunk. Taylor’s ex-husband told police several other people who were at the party also said they saw her drive the children and was intoxicated.

When police responded to Abbey Lane to speak with Taylor, said admitted she drove the children to the party, police said.

She could not sit up straight, told police she drank too much and spoke with slurred speech, according to the arraignment report.

Police said she was extremely confused and almost fell over when she tried to stand up.

The homeowner told police Taylor had arrived at the party in that state.

Taylor’s parents also arrived at the party to drive her home because of her state of intoxication, police said.

Taylor was charged with two counts of risk of injury to a minor and failure to submit to fingerprinting.
The state Department of Children and Families has been notified.

Taylor was arraigned on Monday and posted $10,000 bond. She is due back in court on July 20.

Neither she nor her lawyer would comment on the case.
