Mom Was Driving Recklessly With Young Child in Car: Police

A Southington mother was arrested in West Hartford last week, accused of driving recklessly on the highway with a young child in the car.

Police stopped Gabrielle Turgeon, 23, of Southington, on Interstate 84 West around 1 p.m. on July 30 after she was seen speeding and weaving in and out of traffic, police said.

Turgeon’s 18-month-old son was in the car at the time, police said, and Turgeon also had drug paraphernalia.

She was charged with reckless driving, risk of injury to a child, speeding, drug paraphernalia possession and other charges.

Bond was set at $10,000. She is due in court on Aug. 8.
