Partial Roof Collapse at Former Jacoby’s Restaurant



    Part of the roof of a former Meriden restaurant collapsed.

    A police officer noticed the collapse at the former Jacoby’s Restaurant on East Main Street around 3 a.m., the Meriden Record-Journal reports.

    Wallingford firefighters responded and Meriden officials will determine what to do about the Jacoby's collapse, the Journal reports.

    The restaurant closed in June after 38 years of business. It filed for bankruptcy and was then under deposit, the Meriden Record Journal reported over the summer.

    In 2008, a scene from the film “Once More With Feeling” was filmed at the restaurant,the Journal reported at the time.

    Roof collapses were also reported at  Lou's Upholstery on Center Street in Manchester, as well as in Willimantic, Wallingford, Portland and in other towns.
