Police ID Man Hit by Train

There have been three fatalities nearby since December.

Meriden police have identified the man hit by a train near the Wallingford town line Wednesday.

Robert Levack, 57, of Meriden was struck around 11 a.m. in the area of Gypsy and Old Colony roads, according to police.

The state medical examiner ruled Levack's death a suicide.

None of the 46 passengers on the train were injured, according to Amtrak.

This is the third fatal train incident in the same area since December.

There was a fatal crash near Old Colony Road in Wallingford in December and another  near Route 5, or North Colony Road, in Wallingford in January.
