Pedestrian Struck in Plainfield

Plainfield police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a car just before noon Sunday.

It happened on Prospect Street near the intersection of Maple Street.

According to police, 61-year-old Catherine Kerr, of Plainfield, was crossing the street to return to her car outside All Hollows Church when she was hit by a 2012 Chevy Colorado.

Kerr was transported to Backus Emergency Room for treatment of severe injuries. From there, she was airlifted to Hartford Hospital.

It's not clear if the driver of the Chevy, 69-year-old James Gudeahn of Moosup, was njured.

State police are working with Plainfield police to investigate the crash.
