Evelia Gonzalez and her daughter, Edith, live above the victims. They say they were not home at the time but the crime is unsettling.

“I was working when my husband called me and he told me about what happened on this floor,” says Evelia. “I was scared and I called her at school and she was scared too.”

Police say they the two men left in a grey vehicle with a gold emblem on the back. The vehicle had out of state license plates with a white background and blue lettering.

Across the street, Antoniette Dighello, a mother of two, says she did not notice anything suspicious Thursday. She says the victims keep to themselves.

“They’re very quiet neighbors. They just do their own thing. You wouldn’t think something like that would happen out here.”

Meriden police continue to investigate and ask anyone with any information to give them a call.
