Police Make 2nd Bridgeport Shooting Arrest

Bridgeport police have arrested a second suspect in connection with the shooting on Pond Street on January 14 that left Geraldo Costa, 33, critically injured.

Frank Gonsalves, 25, of Bridgeport, was arrested when he arrived in court Tuesday for an unrelated case. He has been charged with first-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery.

Last week, police arrested Leah McNellis, 23, of Bridgeport, who has been charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery.

Costa was shot inside 585 Pond St. last week and police it happened during a robbery attempt.

He remains in critical condition.

Police said they are still investigating and expect to make more arrests.
