State Police tactical teams responded to a house on Jo Mar Drive in the Sandy Hook section of Newtown for reports of a barricaded man and state police said the issue is over.
Newtown High School and Newtown Middle School were placed on lock-in the morning but students were allowed to go about their normal school down until it ended at 11:45 a.m.
The perimeter of the schools was also closed for 45 minutes.
