3 Foxwoods Employees Killed in Norwich Crash

    A serious crash closed Route 2 in Norwich Wednesday morning.

    Three Foxwoods employees were killed when a car they were in hit a tree on Route 2 in Norwich just before 8:30 a.m. on Thursday.

    Five people, all employees of Foxwoods, were in the car driving from the casino to Norwich when the crashed in the area of 102 Stonington Road, according to police.

    Zhu Zhuo Rong, 65, Li Ying Xie, 52, and Zi Ming Zeng, 62, all of Norwich, were killed.

    Rong was pronounced dead at the scene.

    Xie and Zeng died at Backus Hospital from injuries sustained in the crash, according to police.

    The two survivors are suffering from serious injuries.

    The road was closed for around four hours on Wednesday morning between Palmer Street & Route 2A after a car slammed into a tree, killing at least one person.

    Police continue to investigate the accident.
