Residents of an assisted living facility are being temporarily relocated after a water main break in the Mystic section of Stonington Sunday afternoon.
Stonington Police Captain Todd Olson confirms that 36 people are being relocated from the Avalon Health Center at 186 Jerry Browne Road to facilities in New London while crews work to repair a water main break in the area. Olson says they are preparing for an overnight stay.
The road is currently closed. There is no official word on how long the repairs will take at this time.
Police and Old Mystic fire crews are on scene. Check back for updates.
