Teen Hit-And-Run Victim in Critical Condition

New Haven police are looking for the driver who struck and badly injured a 17-year-old boy early Saturday morning and fled. 

The teen suffered a traumatic brain injury when he was hit in front of 308 Whalley Ave. just after 3 a.m., according to police.

The teen was rushed to the St. Raphael's campus of Yale-New Haven Hospital.

According to police, one witness described the car as a gray four-door Nissan Altima, or similar type of mid-sized car.

He told police he was getting into his car, but heard a thump, looking in the direction of the sound and saw the car speed from the scene

The car involved in the crash the car that struck the teen might have heavily tinted windows and significant impact damage to its front end, hood and/or roof.

There may be a 3 and/ or 1 or 31 in the license plate.
