A firefighter was injured while putting out a blaze at a scrapyard on Chapel Street in New Haven.
Crews were called to respond at 12:11 p.m. Firefighters said they were initially called in for a reported brush fire. When crews got to the scene, they found a scrap pile at a local scrapyard on fire.
Additional units were called in and approximately 40 firefighters helped put out the blaze.
About two hours later, the fire was placed under control, according to officials.

A firefighter sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. They've since been released, according to crews.
The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection was called in to investigate any hazards. Officials said there were no air quality issues or public hazards.
Firefighters are expected to be at the scene for a little while longer.
The Fire Investigative Unit is investigating.
