12/7: Dreams and Reality

THREE RING CHRISTMAS:  Cirque Dreams has been wowing audiences all over the world with their shows filled with music, imagination and dazzling acrobatics. If you head to the Palace in Waterbury tonight, you can see Cirque's latest show, "Holidaze." As you'd imagine, this show will flip and fly you into the holiday spirit. Holidaze is filled with an international cast of acrobats, aerialists, singers, dancers and musicians performing astonishing feats celebrating the season. Among them:  gingerbread men flipping through the air, toy soldiers marching on thin wires and reindeer soaring high above the landscape. The show runs through Thursday. Tickets for tonight's 7:30.p.m show are $47-$62.

ROCK RIFFS: Looking for a little something electric for your Tuesday evening? Head to the Webster in Hartford to check out Hinder. Combining raw riffs with big hooks and vocal harmonies, Hinder hearkens to the days when rock legends Aerosmith, AC/DC, Kiss and Guns N' Roses were king. Tickets for tonight's show are $25. The amps turn up to 11 at 6 p.m.

NO PRETENDING:  Known for their hits like Only You, The Great Pretender and Smoke Gets in Your Eyes, Herb Reed & The Platters were one of the biggest groups of the '50s. Today at Foxwoods, you can check out their "I'll Be Home for Christmas Holiday Show." The group will perform all your favorite doo-wop era hits along with smooth renditions of all the songs you know and love. Tickets for tonight's show are $35. The sock hop gets underway at 2 p.m.
