Man Stabbed Outside Urban League of Greater Hartford

HARTFORD -- Police in Hartford are investigating a stabbing on Woodland Street near the Urban League of Greater Hartford.
A man was stabbed in the neck Wednesday, just before 11 a.m, police said. 

Blood spatters were visible on the front door of the building at 140 Woodland and on the sidewalk.

Witnesses said a group of at least ten people carried the victim to the nearby emergency room at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center, a distance of about 725 feet.

A relative of the victim said he is now in surgery.

Police said they have a description of the suspect and will be releasing more information at a press conference this afternoon.
