Drunken Fight Leads to Curtain Rod Beating: Cops

A Norwich friendship took a beating by way of a curtain rod early Monday morning and sent one man to the hospital with serious internal injuries.

Police and witnesses said Nicholas Houle, 29, of Norwich, hit a friend several times in the head with a brass curtain rod in the 200 block of Laurel Hill Avenue, leaving, the Norwich Bulletin reports. Cops said some sort of booze was involved, the Bulletin reports.

The victim’s name was not released. Houle was charged with first-degree assault. He was released after posting $250,000 bond and is expected back in court in July 2.
