Japan Power Company Chief Hospitalized

Tokyo Electric Power Co. President Masataka Shimizu was hospitalized Tuesday due to fatigue, while workers at the stricken Fukushima plant have been fervently trying to prevent further damage to the nuclear reactors. CNN reports Shimizu’s last public appearance was March 13, two days after the devastating quake and tsunami hit Japan. Conditions are bleak for workers, who are put up in a gym close to the plant, reportedly sleeping in conference rooms and on leaded mats, CNN said. "Crying is useless,” an unnamed plant worker wrote in an email. “If we're in hell now all we can do is to crawl up towards heaven.”
