A 37-year-old mother and her 18-year-old son were killed just before midnight Thursday in Griswold when their car struck a tree.
Darlene Miles and her son Patrick John Perkins Jr. were traveling east on Route 138 near Taylor Hill Road around 11:30 p.m. when Miles' Volkswagen Passat veered off the road and struck a tree, killing them both, said state police.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
