A 19-year-old woman was injured Sunday after diving off the cliffs at the Wafel Reservoir in New Britain.
The woman injured her back and neck after she dove of off the cliffs at the reservoir, said fire officials. Her friends, who were at the reservoir with her, used their cell phones to call 911 around 5:00 p.m.
The Southington Fire and Police Departments along with the Berlin Fire Department were dispatched to the reservoir and quickly located the woman who was complaining from neck and back pain, said fire officials.
She was carried out of the reservoir on a stretcher and transported to New Britain General Hospital. Her condition is unknown.
Police says that swimming in the reservoir is illegal, but have not said if any charges will be filed.
The woman's friends were transported to the Southington Police Department. The woman's name is not being released.
