There is yet another casualty of the tough economy. Office Depot is closing 112 locations nationwide, including its stores in Newington and Stratford.
The Florida-based company is shutting down all of its under-performing stores to cut costs. The company will keep 1,163 stores open in North America.
Office Depot also plans to close six of its 33 distribution facilities in North America.
Office Depot will also open fewer stores than originally planned next year. It will open 20 rather than 40 stores.
