2 More Warrants Served in Willimantic Armed Robbery Spree

A man arrested in connection with several armed robberies in Willimantic has been arrested on two additional warrants.

Willimantic police served Daniel Ashford, 37, with two warrants on July 17 as he appeared in Danielson Superior Court on other Willimantic robbery charges.

Ashford was arrested in connection with the Jan. 29 armed robbery at the Willimantic Subway on High Street and the Feb. 12 armed robbery at the Windham Wine & Spirits package store on Main Street.

He was previously charged with a robbery at a Wiilimantic CVS pharmacy in February and tried to take his own life when officers arrived at his house, police said earlier this year.

Ashford, who is in custody at a Department of Correction facility, has been charged with first-degree robbery in connection and sixth-degree larceny for both robberies.
