An employee of an Ansonia technical high school has been arrested and charged with sexual assault.
Debra Lasasso, 29, a non-certified employee of Emmett O’Brien Technical High School, turned herself in to police on Monday.
School officials said she is on administrative leave from as authorities investigate allegations and does not have access to the school while on leave.
“The administration has also contacted the police in this matter and we understand that there is also an investigation underway by law enforcement.
Lasasso was arrested on two outstanding warrants for second-degree sexual assault on Monday, according to police.
She was released on a $500 bond and is due in court on Jan. 11.
The Emmett O’Brien Technical High School Web site lists a Debra LaSasso as head cook.
