Bridgeport Detectives Investigate Two Armed Robberies

Bridgeport detectives are investigating two armed robberies on Wednesday night.

The Florida Market at 1268 Pembroke St. was robbed just before 7 p.m. Employees told Officer Marlon Campo that two masked men entered the store. One had a gun and the other went behind the counter and took money from the register, police said.

At 9:48 p.m., police responded to Pizza Valley, at 273 Lexington Ave. and employees told Sgt. Stacey Lyons and Officer Donald Bensey they saw an armed man in a hooded sweatshirt and black mask run toward the store, so they locked the security gate and ran to the back of the store.

As the two men tried to force their way in, one of the employees yelled, “give me the gun” and the would-be robbers ran away without getting any money.

No one was injured in either incident.
