A car veered off the road and crashed into a tree Friday night in Haddam. The accident happened on Old County Road late Friday.
According to a Haddam Volunteer Fire Department spokesperson, there was only one person pinned inside the car. Firefighters had to cut him out of the car which was partially wrapped around a tree.
Investigators believe the vehicle may have been airborne before striking the tree.
The patient was transported by medical helicopter to Hartford Hospital and is in critical condition.
The victim's name and age have not been released.
