Three men wearing ski masks approached two construction workers at the Nathan Hale School in New London on Thursday afternoon and one of them was severely assaulted, according to police.
Authorities said the assault happened at the construction site on 37 Beach Drive at 4:05 p.m. on Thursday and one of the construction workers suffered multiple facial injuries in the attack.
The second worker was able to run and elude the attackers
According to a spokesman from the mayor's office, Waterford and New London police officers responded to the scene and were able to track down the three assailants who fled in a red Toyota Camry.
The three suspects were arrested and charged with multiple criminal charges.
