Police are investigating a bank robbery at the Bank of Southern Connecticut in Branford at 445 West Main St. just after 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
A man, about 40 years of age, 5-feet, 6-inches tall, with dark hair with facial hair, wearing a tan baseball hat, a white long sleeve button down shirt, jeans and workboots robbed the bank and walked toward Jefferson Road, police said.
Original reports were that a man left a package at the counter and officials were checking to determine it if was an explosive.
