Doctor Shortage Spurs Bill

State lawmakers are pitching a $10 million program to provide loans, hiring incentives and matching grants for physicians who practice in under-served communities, according to the Hartford Business Journal.
There is growing concern over a shortage of primary care doctors in Connecticut. 
One in four primary care doctors are not accepting new patients, the Connecticut State Medical Society told the Business Journal.
A public hearing on the bill is scheduled for Thursday at the state Capitol.
