Contractors Rupture Gas Line in Glastonbury

Authorities responded to a minor gas leak in Glastonbury late Monday morning after contractors working in the area ruptured a line, according to police.

The half-inch leak happened at the intersection of Harris and Griswold streets. Police said the intersection was closed while they worked to cap the leak but no homes were evacuated.

Firefighters and crews from Connecticut Natural Gas were called out. The scene had cleared by about 11:45 a.m. Monday.

Crews are doing road work at the intersection.
