Harwinton Teen Missing

Police said Austin Cyr ran away on a trip from Riverview Hospital to CCMS.

Hartford police are searching for a Harwinton teen who they said ran away as he was being escorted from Riverview Hospital in Middletown to an appointment at Connecticut Children's Medical Center on March 8.

Austin Cyr, 16, was last seen around 10 a.m. on March 8 at New Britain Avenue and Washington Street in Hartford, police said. He had not yet arrived at CCMC, hospital officials said.

Investigators received reports that Cyr was heading southbound on Webster Street. Police used a K-9 to try and search, but they were not able to find him.

Police said Cyr is known to frequent Winsted, Torrington and Burlington, but police have received reports of Cyr being seen on Albany Avenue.

Cyr is 5 feet, 5, 145 pounds and has red hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and silver rimmed glasses at the time.
