It appears a Hooters waitress was padding....her tips!!!
Lindsay Butler, 20, of East Haven, is accused of increasing the amount customers put on the gratuity line of credit card payments made at the restaurant in Milford, according to the New Haven Register.
A manager began to investigate after discovering discrepancies in the amount of tips the entire wait staff was receiving, the paper reported.
Butler allegedly padded the tips on 51 different transactions over the period of a month, police said. In all the thefts totaled $539. Hooters reimbursed the customers involved.
Butler is facing fifth-degree larceny and credit card fraud charges. She's scheduled to appear in court July 20.
