A casino employee duped a mentally disabled coworker out of $45,000 by telling the man he was contributing to a lottery account, police said.
George Flynn, 66, of Stonington, tricked a 54-year-old Norwich man while the two worked together at Foxwoods Casino, in Ledyard, police said.
Relatives of the victim said he is very gullible. Starting as early as 2001, the victim paid Flynn $240 a week in cash, according to the arrest warrant affidavit.
Police say Flynn told them he loaned the victim $35,000 in cash and they were "about even." The victim denies that claim.
Flynn was arraigned Monday in Norwich Superior Court on the charge of first-degree larceny. He's being held on a $150,000 bond.
