Mom Busted for DUI Had Kids In Car: Cops

Police conducting a DUI checkpoint in Plainville Sunday morning arrested a mother with her two children in her SUV.

Rossa Monedsi, 39, of Wayland, Mass. was stopped at 2 a.m. Sunday on West Main Street. She had a blood alcohol content of .127, according to police.

Monedsi had her two children, ages 7 and 12 in the back of her 2003 Mercedes SUV at the time. Neither child was wearing a seat belt, police said.

She is facing charges of DUI, risk of injury to minors, operating a motor vehicle without a license, and seat belt violations. Monedsi was released on $5,000 bond and will be in Bristol Superior Court Aug. 2.
