Child pornography charges have been filed against a former Wallingford teacher who was already charged with sexual assault, three counts of voyeurism and two counts of risk of injury to a minor.
As Mario Fusco Jr., 35, of Middlebury, was appearing in Waterbury Superior Court for criminal charges on Friday, Middlebury police served him with a warrant charging him with first-degree child pornography possession and importing child pornography.
Police first arrested Fusco in May after a girl accused him of sexually assaulting her over a period of five years, beginning when she was 14-years-old, police said.
He told police he had a relationship with the girl and that he was trying to help her feel good about herself, according to court documents.
Fusco was a teacher at Wallingford's Alternative High School when he was arrested in May, but is no longer employed there. The victim was not one of his students, according to court documents.
Police said the arrest is from an ongoing criminal investigation Middlebury police are conducting. Bond was set at $75,000.
