Don't Panic if You Need New License

If you need to get your hands on a renewed license over the weekend, don’t head over to the DMV this weekend, it’s closed until Tuesday. But you’re not out of luck.

AAA offices can help you out. We're not sure if you'll get the current license or the new pretty in pink IDs (although the state says they are salmon, not pink). Either way, you can get a license renewed Friday and Saturday.

Not a member of AAA? Don’t worry. You don’t have to be. You do, however have to be legally licensed and have an extra $2 for the convenience fee.

This is the only DMV-related service that AAA can provide. You cannot get a commercial driver’s licenses, duplicate license or license with endorsements/restrictions for public passengers. If you need your name changed on your license, you can’t do that at AAA either, according to AAA.

The AAA offices are open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Here’s what you need:

Driver’s license, renewal application form and either cash or a check, money order, bank check made payable to DMV.
