Police Investigate Death Plainfield Street Death

Dartanyon Blake was found on Plainfield Street on Feb. 15.

Hartford detectives are investigating the death of a 39-year-old Hartford man who was found lying on Plainfield Street on Feb. 15.

Dartanyon Blake died on Feb. 27 from injuries.

It is not clear how Blake was injured, but he might have been struck by a motor vehicle, police said.

Police responded to the 200 block of Plainfield Street around 12:23 a.m. on Feb. 15 for a report of a man lying in the street.

Blake was transported to Saint Francis Hospital for treatment of his injuries and died on Feb. 27.

“The untimely death of anyone in our City is a tragedy that should impact us all,” Mayor Pedro E. Segarra said in a statement. “My thoughts and prayers are with the Blake family, and I urge anyone with information about what happened on February 15th to come forward and assist police.”
