State Police Arrest Suspect in Violent Attempted Robbery

State police have arrested a suspect in a violent stabbing and attempted robbery in Bolton in February.

Daniel Duffy, 35, of Suffield, has been charged with first-degree criminal attempted robbery and first-degree assault in connection with an attack on Feb. 28.

The victim of that attack told police that a friend drove him from East Hartford to Bolton, where he was hit in the head with a car jack and stabbed repeatedly during an attempted robbery, then the attacker fled, leaving the victim in the road.

Police investigated and have charged Duffy, who is incarcerated in Suffield.

Police previously said that Duffy was on parole for committing an armed robbery and kidnapping in 2008.

Bond was set at $500,000.
