Stratford Also Declares State of Emergency

While Bridgeport suffered the most severe damage, it is not the only Connecticut community affected by storm.

Stratford also declared a state of emergency because of power outages. The power grid was shut off for repairs, officials said.

The Stratford Star reports that trees fell on cars, and wires were down. No injuries were reported, the site reports.

Most of the damage in the community is on Stratford Road, in the Lordship section of town, which borders the beach.

The beach is closed until further notice and no one other than residents is allowed in or out until further notice.
